Anaren, Inc.’s Internet of Things (IoT) Group announced today that the company will showcase a number of new products at this year’s World Maker Faire, held October 1-2 in New York City. In addition to the group’s robust line of AIR for WICED™ Bluetooth® Smart modules and its innovative Anaren Atmosphere™ online development platform, the company will exhibit a prototype of its oneof-a-kind Wi-Fi module and dedicated development kit. Alongside a beta version of an Atmosphere release update, Anaren’s graphic- and feature-rich cloud hosting platform will also be revealed.

“With the imminent release of Anaren’s next generation of connectivity products, we can think of no better place to display them than World Maker Faire,” said Mark Bowyer, Anaren’s Director of IoT Business Development. “Our own excitement for this product release will match the infectious enthusiasm and expertise we always encounter with the maker community, and we look forward to offering them an exclusive preview of the amazing things that are to come from Anaren.”

The new AIR for WICED Wi-Fi module and development kit will now provide Wi-Fi capabilities to Atmosphere projects. Atmosphere is an easy-to-use integrated development environment that creates embedded firmware and mobile apps for connecting AIR for WICED modules with mobile devices, enabling them for IoT connectivity. The module and updated development platform will also be compatible with Anaren’s new cloud hosting platform. Paired with cloud hosting, Atmosphere projects will be able to take data held within the module, send it to the cloud, and provide a unique sensor-to-server experience that is incredibly fast and easy to implement.

The new products are scheduled to be released together toward the end of 2016. The release will include the AIR for WICED Wi-Fi module, a Wi-Fi development kit, a significant Atmosphere software update, and the unveiling of the Anaren cloud hosting platform.

“After an inventive and enjoyable experience last year, Anaren will again be a Blacksmith sponsor for this year’s World Maker Faire. Anaren can be found at World Maker Faire in Zone 3, Space 3310 in the Maker pavilion or by using the official Maker Faire app. We’re pleased to have a host of engineers and ‘hacksperts’ ready to assist makers and innovators to enable their own products for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Smart connectivity,” added Bowyer. Additionally, Anaren engineers will provide demonstrations featuring all aspects of the Atmosphere ecosystem, ranging from basic Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Smart connectivity projects to elaborate cloud-based monitoring solutions.
